End of Week 3
Sunday, June 30th, 1pm
Bonjour !
We are getting close to the end of the program, as we are finishing week 3. Spirits are still high, but students are now realizing that they only have less than a week left in Saint-Brieuc, and still a lot to do!
On Thursday, we had classes in the morning, and then we took the bus to go to la Plage du Valais.
We had lunch near the beach, and then walked up to la Tour de Cesson, where we met our guide for the afternoon. The tower is in the middle of a site that has recently been purchased by the city. It had been abandoned for years, but the city of Saint-Brieuc is making efforts to rehabilitate it, as it contains historical buildings and artefacts, such as the tower and WW2 bunkers.
Students were given helmets to wear for the visit of the bunkers, as most of them have quite low ceilings. Some students thought of it as a great fashion statement piece!
We visited some of the bunkers, after making sure no bats were inside of them. Some were quite small and could only host a couple of people at a time, while others could fit up to 10ish. We asked but none of the students wanted to spend the night there- I'm not sure why!
We ended the visit with a nice group picture !
On Friday, we worked on the program magazine and the farewell show, which are coming soon! We also celebrated the birthdays of Grace and Sabina, both of which fall during the program!
Students are currently spending their last weekend in their host families. I'm sure they will have plenty of fun activities planned for, and then we'll start our final week in Brittany!
